NAHU'S Legislative and Government Affairs

CAHU'S Legislation Program

Legislative advocacy is one of our association's most important functions. Our association, on the state and national level, has committed substantial resources in both money and volunteer hours to positively affect legislation to protect the consumer and our industry

Adopt-A-Leg Program

The only thing in politics that is more influential than money is an organized grass roots lobbying program.  The best thing we can do to protect the health insurance consumer and our own careers in this industry is to meet with and establish relationships with our local legislators. They need to know who we are and what we do to fully appreciate the value we add to the health care delivery system. The Adopt-A-Legislator program was developed to match our members with their local legislator(s) to establish these relationships.  If you are interested in joining the Adopt-A-Legislator program or find out more about it, please email our legislative chair.

Political Action Commitee (PAC)

Membership, Legislation, and PAC.

Every year the politicians and consumers turn their attention to the health delivery system. Each legislative year the bills introduced into the Assembly and Senate double or triple. Many of the bills introduced do not help the consumer nor include the agent in the delivery system.

CAHU PAC's is a fundraising arm of CAHU. Its purpose is to raise money to help enable our Legislative Committee and our Lobbyist to be proactive rather than reactive. However, we cannot accomplish these goals without your help.

The PAC needs your contribution.
